NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Change Healthcare, a leading provider of software and analytics, network solutions and technology-enabled services designed to enable smarter healthcare, today announced the appointment of its senior vice president and general manager of consumer payment solutions, Stuart Hanson, to the HIMSS Health Business Solution Committee for a two-year term beginning this July.
For the past two years, Hanson has chaired the HIMSS Revenue Cycle Improvement Task Force, which has focused its energies on creating a vision for the next generation of revenue cycle management tools and processes that keep administrative cost containment, interoperability and consumer engagement front and center.
The HIMSS Health Business Solutions Committee identifies and promotes the effective use of financial and administrative systems for healthcare organizations. HIMSS has over 7,000 volunteers involved in Committees, Task Forces, Roundtables, Chapters and Work Groups that are working towards the mission of advancing and improving healthcare through the best use of IT.
"Change Healthcare is continually striving to bring more value to our clients' revenue cycle and financial administration functions," stated Hanson. "The rise of consumerism in healthcare is testing the agility of many of our client organizations as they all strive to manage the complex implications of increased patient financial responsibility and growing demand for improved patient and member engagement. HIMSS has helped foster an industry neutral dialogue to help design a framework for organizations like Change Healthcare to continue to innovate towards solving these challenges. I am honored to serve on this committee."
Hanson has spent much of his career building healthcare payments businesses at multiple organizations, including large financial institutions. He is a frequent speaker at industry events and has published numerous articles and research pieces on the challenges and complexity of healthcare payments.
At Change Healthcare, Hanson is responsible for managing the consumer payments business, which offers both payer and provider clients a robust suite of member and patient billing and frictionless payment solutions.
